Powering your ambition

Our Power Division provides end-to-end High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) electrical infrastructure solutions, specialising in the design, delivery and optimisation. We work with data centres, utilities, energy developers and complex urban regeneration projects to connect critical sites to the grid – safely, quickly and compliantly.

From the first feasibility conversation to final energisation and handover, we act as a single, accountable partner for your connection. Our teams bring together grid specialists, HV/EHV engineers, civil and street works experts, programme managers and regulatory advisers to unlock challenging sites and de‑risk multi‑year programmes.

We provide an integrated, multidisciplinary service covering the full lifecycle of electrical infrastructure: strategy, design, approvals, construction, commissioning and handover. This approach lets you access reliable, scalable HV and EHV power services through a single accountable partner.

Whether you are delivering a hyperscale data centre, a multiacre industrial estate or a new energy project, we help you secure capacity, design resilient networks and build the infrastructure that underpins long-term operations.

Grid & Connection Services

Securing the right grid connection on the right terms is often the single biggest risk to any major energy-intensive development. Our grid connection services exist to remove that uncertainty. We help you understand your options, engage early with Distribution Network Operators and transmission operators, and progress from offer to energisation with a clear, realistic programme.

We combine technical expertise, commercial insight and proven relationships with network operators to deliver connections that work – not just on paper, but in the field.

Grid Connections & Contestable Works

For large-scale projects, we design and deliver major grid connections at 132kV and above, handling both the contestable and non-contestable elements. That includes everything from initial feasibility and application support through to the design, acceptance, installation and adoption of new assets by the relevant DNO.

Our experience includes delivering connections of up to 300MVA, including some of the largest on the UK Power Networks (UKPN) network. By managing grid engagement, wayleaves, outage negotiation and technical approvals on your behalf, we keep your programme moving and reduce the risk of late-stage surprises.

Where overhead line connections are required, we can deploy our innovative POCMAST™ structures to create final connection points more quickly and cost-effectively than traditional tower modifications, minimising outages and improving safety.
