We help power communities

Freedom is a trusted delivery partner to regulated Distribution Network Operators across the South of England, supporting the safe operation, renewal and expansion of electricity networks in some of the UK’s most densely populated and operationally complex regions.

Working in long‑term partnership with DNOs, Freedom delivers a comprehensive range of regulated network services, spanning asset inspections, repairs and renewals across overhead lines, underground cables and substations. Our role is to ensure networks remain safe, resilient and capable of meeting growing demand driven by electrification, decarbonisation and population growth.

Unique to the South

Across the South, Freedom supports DNO programmes covering 11kV, 33kV and 66kV wooden pole networks, delivering targeted inspection, reinforcement and replacement schemes that extend asset life while improving safety and reliability. Our teams also deliver overhead line refurbishment and renewal works, alongside LV overhead and underground cabling activities that support network reinforcement in often congested urban, suburban and rural environments.

Our capabilities extend to substation construction, refurbishment and maintenance, including new‑build and renewal works up to 132kV. These activities are delivered alongside associated civils, cabling and integration works, providing DNOs with a joined‑up delivery model that reduces interfaces and programme risk.

A critical part of our regulated network support is rapid response. Freedom provides emergency call‑out capability to support DNOs during outages, severe weather events and unplanned incidents. Our experienced operational teams mobilise quickly to restore supply, carry out temporary or permanent repairs and support network recovery, often working in challenging conditions to protect customers and communities.
